The KP Club in Pocklington has become a firm favourite for weddings in Yorkshire, and it’s easy to see why. Sally and Lee loved the idea of hosting their entire celebration at one venue. From the morning preparations right through to the evening party, they knew their guests would be able to relax and enjoy every moment without having to travel anywhere. For me, the KP Club is an absolute dream to work at – the light, the scenery, and the atmosphere all lend themselves perfectly to storytelling through photography. One of the unique features of the KP Club is the set of luxury lodges dotted around the grounds, and this is where the day began. Sally and her bridesmaids got ready in one lodge, while Lee and his groomsmen were just a short walk away in another. This setup was ideal, as it allowed me to move seamlessly between both groups, capturing the laughter, excitement, and even a few happy nerves as the morning unfolded.

The bridal prep lodge was filled with joy – hair and makeup artists worked their magic while bridesmaids sipped on fizz and helped with the final touches. Meanwhile, over at the groom’s lodge, there was just as much excitement, with Lee sharing laughs with his closest friends and family as he prepared for the big moment ahead.

The ceremony took place in the KP Club’s elegant wedding suite, with its modern design and stunning views creating the perfect backdrop for Sally and Lee’s vows. The room was filled with warmth as their nearest and dearest gathered to witness the start of their new chapter together.

After the ceremony, we took advantage of the KP Club’s stunning grounds for some portraits. Sally and Lee were naturals in front of the camera, relaxed and completely themselves, which made for beautiful, natural images.

Walking around the grounds, we paused at scenic spots to create a variety of portraits – from romantic moments overlooking the hills to fun, candid shots filled with laughter. The KP Club truly shines when it comes to wedding receptions. The bright, spacious dining area was beautifully decorated for Sally and Lee’s celebration, with thoughtful touches that reflected their personalities. Guests were treated to a delicious meal, followed by heartfelt speeches that had everyone alternating between laughter and tears.

Photographing speeches is always a highlight for me. The reactions of guests, the emotion on parents’ faces, and the sheer joy in the room all add up to a gallery of images that couples will treasure forever. As the sun set over the East Yorkshire landscape, we slipped outside for a few golden-hour portraits. The soft evening light, combined with the couple’s relaxed energy, created some of my favourite images of the day. The evening celebrations kicked off with Sally and Lee’s first dance, followed by a packed dance floor that stayed lively all night. Their guests certainly knew how to celebrate, and it was such a joy capturing the energy, laughter, and fun as the party unfolded.

To end the night, we headed outside for a sparkler exit. There’s something so romantic and celebratory about sparklers – the glow of the light, the laughter of guests, and the perfect sense of “ending on a high.” Sally and Lee walked hand-in-hand through their friends and family, surrounded by sparks and smiles. It was the perfect way to finish a truly unforgettable wedding day at the KP Club.
