York Pavilion Hotel is one of my favourite venues to photograph. With its elegant charm, gardens, and welcoming atmosphere, it’s a dream location for any York Wedding Photographer. The ceremony room was beautifully set, with natural light spilling in and guests eagerly waiting for Mikaela’s arrival.

As the ceremony began, the emotions came to the surface. Mark couldn’t hide his expression as he saw Mikaela walk down the aisle – a moment every wedding photographer hopes to capture. The vows were heartfelt, and there was hardly a dry eye in the room. Laughter followed too, with little glances and smiles between the couple reminding everyone how much fun these two have together.

The gardens at York Pavilion Hotel provided the perfect backdrop for some beautiful couple portraits. As a York Wedding Photographer, I always love taking advantage of those little golden-hour moments when the light softens and couples get a few quiet minutes together. One of the most memorable moments of the day came during the wedding breakfast. What Mark didn’t know was that Mikaela had arranged a surprise singing waiter. As the courses were being served and guests settled into the meal, the ‘waiter’ suddenly burst into song, catching everyone off guard – especially the groom!

As a York Wedding Photographer, I had to keep this secret too. It was a challenge not to give anything away in the lead-up, but it was worth every second once the reveal happened. The look on Mark’s face when the waiter began to sing was priceless, and the reaction from the guests was equally fantastic. People were clapping, laughing, and joining in – a truly unforgettable moment that brought so much energy to the room.

Looking back, Mikaela and Mark’s wedding was an absolute joy to photograph from start to finish. From the morning preparations at Mikaela’s parents’ house, to the emotional ceremony, the surprise singing waiter, and the lively evening celebrations – the day was filled with moments that will be cherished forever.

For me, being a York Wedding Photographer isn’t just about taking photos. It’s about capturing emotions, telling stories, and preserving memories that couples can look back on for years to come.
